Checking Jeddah's DSL Speeds

OK, i know i said tomorrow but here it is today.

-edit-First of all i want to share something with every one that explains the kbps, kbps = kilobit per second(not byte), notice not byte, 8 kilobits = 1 Kilobyte so if u have a 256kbps u should get a download speed of 32 kilobytes per second. its pretty much a marketing trick. now that we have that cleared

I've recently got DSL and i was tryin to find out whats the best DSL ISP in Jeddah online. And all i was able to come up with this a report from 2003!!! well i guess its better then nothing.

My Report:

Using the help of http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?loc=4 i've clocked my Nesma 256kbps DSL Download Speed at 40kbp/s (kbp/s is actual speed) 30 kbp/s up load, it gave me a ranking of a 321kbps DSL line. I was happy with my speeds. I'm going to get SaudiNet next month so I can clock that speed and report it to you guys.

I'll be going to as many friends houses as I can and try making a full list of Saudi ISP DSL speeds so we can see which ISP gives off the best speeds. To speed this process up try clocking your ISP speed if you got DSL. And post it as a comment make sure u post full details about which ISP you use, which speed it is and all the details www.dslreports.com gives you about your connection.

p.s when you use that site to check your speeds please close all other WebPages and don't forget to close all downloading programs. and also if your on a house network try turning off all the other computers so you your speeds are reported correct.

The Saudi Gazette Did a report on DSL speeds!!! LOL what a joke!!!"Dr. Muhammad Al-Quwaiz" LOL Doctor not in computers i can tell that much LOL.he says "internet services (satellite, DSL, some claiming a speed of 54 megabytes, others 128 or 256 or even 512 megabytes)" my mom know it kbps!!! and better yet "As for the best DSL companies which say they have a speed of 256, the test results showed were 12 kilobytes, meaning less than 5 percent of the presumed speed. As for the rating, it came out as slow, very slow" the guy has no clue what he's saying, i've used the worst dsl isp (awalnet) and got 20-30kbps, he's just tryin to fukcing sound smart LOL plz read the whole report i'm going to go email him now and mock him!!!
